Can anyone tell me which Rebecca this is in? (I think it’s a Rebecca)
I really like the red one on the left. I drug this jPeg to my desktop awhile ago, stuffed it in a file, and I don’t remember where it came from. I need this pattern, so if anyone can help me out, I’d be oh-so-grateful.
I have a confession to make. I’ve been holding out on you. I started a lace swatch earlier this year, and I liked it so much, I just kept knitting. It has become my very first scarf in progress, but it hasn’t made it to the blog yet. Wanna see?
It is the palest of pinks, and I want to do a contrasting lace edging in a different color at each end. I don’t know how to do lace edgings, or color changes with lace yarn, so I guess that technically, it’s still a swatch! The color of this swatch-scarf is amazing next to my mom’s steel blue sweater, so I’ve contemplated giving it to her when the sweater is finished. I haven’t entirely decided yet. There’s plenty of this yarn in the stash to make another, and it is a very nice travel project….. Hmmm.

That scarf looks really pretty! Is that stitch pretty easy? I’ve been wanting to make some sort of lacy wrap using that stitch pattern after seeing this fabulous wrap:

I love her site. Let me try to link it again.

that should work. I don’t know why the individual link isn’t working, but the main site does. This is where I discovered you can change colors in lace knitting. It seemed impossible to me because the yarn is so thin, I didn’t think you could hide a weave in. She is writing a pattern for the blue butterfly shawl now, and I’m buying it once it’s finished. I’ll be blogging about it, so you all will know when it’s available.
Lori- yes, the stitch is easy. It is in Barbara Abbey’s Lace Knitting book.
Laurie- I would swap, but there are many, many things in Rebecca 27 I want to make at some point, (not to mention the apricot jacket I’m obsessed with) so I want to hang on to it. Thanks for asking. I’d happily buy your #26 from you, if you’re willing to part with it that way. My hubby has been looking for #26 for me because he saw some red, racing striped sweater he liked in there, somehow, and has been looking for it ever since. I’m going on and on here, so I’ll email you.
FYI- my local LYS has many copies of Rebecca #27 and they’ll ship it out. Here is their website and phone numbers.

La,
IT is VERY pretty. Seems to me I recall a swatch that did look exactly like that at your house on night…oh so long ago!
I can’t wait to see it with the blue sweater. You may inspire me to lace yet.

I really like that sweater too but the one thing with the pattern is that the design is not knitted onto the sweater. You can get a copy of the design from the Rebecca website: http://www.rebecca-online.com/ — click on Pattern. I think you iron the design onto the sweater. I have a copy of mag #26 at home, I’ll take a look at it tonight and let you know.
