My eyes are faster than my hands. Here are some knits accumulating on my desktop.
I already have a dark green sport weight alpaca yarn that’d work great, (it was going to be legwarmers for me), but I may wait to get yarn in a light blue. Light blue is an amazing color on him because it really brings out his eyes.

I’m still waiting for the Hempathy to come into my LYS that I ordered for Josephine.
And of course, I have a list of things I want to spin, spin, spin.
And sew.
I’ve been thinking about the summer, and what we’re going to do with all that time…
I’d like to sew with the girls. They’d love it, and I think they’re ready. Where do I start? Are there good sewing books like there are knitting books with simple projects in it? Do you have any to recommend?

Laura, There is a book with fun sewing projects for teens-gave as a birthday gift, so I don’t have exact title, but found it @ Walmart in the sewing section. Pillowcases, pajama pants, drawstring bag were some of the projects. It had patterns. I started all mine out with bean bags in fabrics they chose themselves, then pillow cases, then pillows. All straight line sewing at first, that makes for “success” every time. Pajama shorts worked great after that. Travel size pillows were big hits one year- my then 10 y.o. made them for grandparents for Christmas. blessings for happy sewing!

That airy mohair wrap is GORGEOUS! Too bad I can’t wear mohair… I’d love to have a look at that book though. 🙂 I think I’m going to have to make that little Arwen sweater for Evelyn too.

that wrap is gorgeous, as for sewing with your girls, straight lines, little totes with pockets and rectangle straps, drawstring bags for gym shoes or swimming, pillows with some applique on, skirts with elastic waists, email me if you want help, sorry I can’t recommend a book.

I have been eyeing that fitted knits book for awhile. And that pertictular wrap sweater is on my list for when I slim down some more. I haven’t also toyed with the idea of that baby cardigan. I have that IK’s as well and have seen her mods. If you do a KAL…I’ll join :o)

Hey Laura,
I love that little cardigan. The cable around the hood is perfect! I think everyone had great advice for teaching the girls to sew. I’ve been eye-ing this book See and Sew: a sewing book for children.

for ages at my local bookstore. It looks to be a combination of really useful and wicked cute with vintage pictures etc. Love it!
