More stocking to show.
I finished the knitting part of Veronica’s stocking, and now I’m stitching the Christmas tree, evergreen tree, whatever kind of tree it is over the top. Here’s my chart-
I had originally planned to do a large tree, and one or two little ones, but I think it’s going to end up being just one tree, mainly because I’m running out of space. But I’m pretty happy with how it looks. I haven’t had much luck with duplicate stitch in the past. A couple things I’ve learned? Work from the top-down. Make the stitches a little loose. Work in sections, and plan your path before you start. Lastly, at least in my experience, the base knitting needs to be rather tight and firm.

Wow Laura,
It looks SO great! I’m still in denial about my santa smurf stocking and have yet to move forward at all. . . you’re inspiring me to get off my duff and frog that smurf.

Very lovely. What a great stocking!
I’m cheating, and going with a kit, which has finally arrived. Now I’ve discovered I don’t own any size 4 circs. So I’m currently waiting on Knitpicks. I’ll be getting my new needles in 5-9 business days. (sigh!)

It looks Lovely Laura, really.
I’d love to join, because I keep saying that I’m going to knit stockings, but I really don’t think it’s going to happen. Maybe, if I get all my WIP done, soon, then I’ll join..
Either way, I’ll be checking in on Fridays to see the latest!
Also, um, when are some good, free times for us to plan our date?

I love the colour choices, combination of stripes and the tree is very cute!
I also have a question for you about ‘knitting graph paper,’ is there such a thing? I’ve tried to design things using graph paper before and I never like how disproportionate they look in the knitted item … any tips here? Looking at my stocking pattern graph, it seems to be done on square graph paper too … hmmm
Thanks!
