2nd time’s the charm?

We’re getting our second ultrasound today. Yee-haw!

Sorry, my sis’ has been living in Texas for close to a year, and she’s started throwing around all sorts of Texas-talk. I love it, quite frankly. It’s fun. But a single email from her gets me drawlin’.

Ok, so, we’re gonna take another look and see if the baby will give up the goods. Even though we already have a good idea that it’s a boy. I’d just as soon know for sure.

As for baby knit-alongs… I was thinking about a Superman knit-along. Mainly because if it is a boy, I’m going to be knitting baby stuff with superman logos on it. I don’t imagine this knit-along will be very popular, but it could be fun. (And of course, my witty husband said it should be a KAL-el). We talked here awhile ago about a Baby in Koigu knit-along. I’m still open to that, because that’s the other thing I intend to knit for the little one. Koigu hats, mainly. Koigu’s expensive.

What do you think? (Those of you who expressed an interest).

Now, for the Interlocking Balloons Scarf.

It’s about as long as the railing on my front stairs. And it’s luscious, no? The weird thing is that when I touch it with my hands, there is nothing softer on the planet. And when I wrap it around my neck, it itches. What’s up with that? It doesn’t itch bad, I’ll still be happy to wear it, but I find it very strange indeed.

If you want to see another, slightly bigger photo….

Good luck on the ultrasound. As for the KAL ideas…….. Superman logos – sounds fun but I had never thought about knitting anything with Superman on it for my little guy. Koigu hats sound like an awesome idea though except I don’t have any boy like Koigu in my small Koigu stash. How about a baby hats KAL? We could share links to little baby hat patterns or some up with our own versions and share those. But whatever……..

Your scarf looks great. Mine is about 1/3 that size…I have a ways to go. I had to stop and knit a pair of socks for a class I took, but I am back at it now 🙂
Can’t wait for the It’s a Boy Confirmation!

    Hi Laura,
I love you Esther Williams hat…but I have a question. did you block it after it’s done? I’m doing mine in Cascade 220 and I’m thinking it’s going to need a good blocking. Good luck on finding out the sex of the baby. 🙂 Hope you can see “the parts” this time!

    Scarf looks great!

I have the same slight itch problem with some wristwarmers I made out of handspun blue faced leicester. Touching them they are wonderfully soft; wearing them they itch slightly. Not enough to make me stop wearing them, but what the hay?

I think your scarf is gorgeous and I can’t wait to hear about your appointment today. I finished my hat and I have pictures on my blog!!

I love the idea of a KAL-el – what fun to knit superman stuff… but what stuff? Maybe just the colors bright blue and red with a little yellow thrown in? Phil and I just finished watching Smallville Season 4 and can’t wait to see the movie that’s coming out soon. Too bad they didn’t use the same actor. Tom Welling is so cute! (Not as cute as Orlando though…) 🙂

I would love to do a Superman knit along. But can we use whatever yarn we want? I can’t afford expensive yarns right now.
