I am SO going! Anyone else? Want to meet up? Today I’m going to make some calls in an effort to find a campsite for Friday night. I’m going alone, and couldn’t be happier. I’m so weird. I don’t have a spinning wheel, but I’ll drive 250 miles to go to a fiber fair. What’s up with that?
Oh, and I need to borrow a tent.
Hey, check this out…
Is that not the coolest thing ever? I’ve never seen a cable like that! So now I own it. This book is cool. I already own and love a few of the Harmony Guides, so when I saw this book of stitch patterns I thought I’d already “been there, done that”. I was surprised to find that many of them are quite unique and wonderful. And it’s cheap! I was also looking at this book, which is not cheap. It is a cool, conceptional and inspirational book, but like a lot of others, the photography doesn’t give you much clue as to what you’d actually be knitting. I still want it, but $30 seemed a bit steep.
We were at Barnes & Noble last night, if you couldn’t already tell.
Nate felt that he was entitled considering I’m ditching him and the kids for sheep all of Friday and Saturday, so he stocked up for the weekend with very loooong books.

Wow, that cable is amazing! I may have to think about getting that book… or at least put it on my wish list. Are the other stitch patterns that cool? I love taking my kids to Barnes & Noble… the one in Lynnwood has a train table that Nathan loves to play with as well as reading a few books. Fortunately he hasn’t reached the age where he thinks we should buy one every time – most of the time we just have story-time and leave. Our new town has a brand new library and I can’t wait to spend some time down there. It looks like they have a great kids section with videos too. The fiber fair sounds awesome, but there’s no way I’m driving to Oregon this weekend. 🙂 Does this mean no Friday night knitting ths week?

Several girls from the Eastside Stitchers group are going to that fiber fair in OR. E-mail the list to meet up with them. I think it’s Angela and Karen at least, probably more.

Sigh….any other year I am up North this time of year (that was before I knew about the wonder of Wool festivals…) but alas I am too broke (Darn kiddos needing things like trumpets and to go to summer camps :+) to make my treck to the Pacific Northwest this summer.
Have FUN and take lots of photos!

I live in Eugene. And I have a couch. It’s not the biggest apartment/couch/living room, and you’ll have to contend with 2 psycho cats and my husband who will be skeptical of me offering our couch to a stranger, but it’s free and (thanks to you, now that I know about it), I’ll be going.

I looked at the Sarah Dallas book at Borders yesterday and was inspired by her color choices. Also, I loved how she cast on with one color and then immediately switched to another. If you haven’t already looked at Loop-di-Loop, that is another “think different” knitting book.

I’ll be there. I live in Eugene. But you don’t really know me, since I don’t have a knit blog. But maybe I’ll see you there. It’ll be an internet stalking kind of moment… Not scary stalking though…
