The Flower Basket Shawl is done and soaking in the sink right now, getting ready for a big stretch. As it turns out, my numbers were fine. I’m just an idiot that can’t count. Here’s a picture with only a few rows remaining.
See how little yarn I had left? I had to spit and splice for the last row and a half.
Big surprise! More markers!
The markers on top are significantly smaller than the others. That’s because they’re sock markers! Aren’t they CUTE? I used a size 6 needle as opposed to the usual 10 1/2 to wrap the wire, and I used smaller and fewer beads.
I think I need to knit some socks!

I can’t wait to see the shawl blocked, it looks gorgeous. And I love the stitch markers just for socks. I always have socks on the needles to carry with me and knit at all times..lol. (no going even a minute without knitting!!). Do you carry knitting in your purse? By the way, I finally did swatches for my Cable 8. I think I will start it this week (today?).

mini-markers, what a great idea! I love the color of the shawl, it looks very basket-like! So what did you decide to do about your Cable-8?

I think what might have happened with your Cable-8 is that you needed to add some stitches on the sides for what would have been the seams… The shawl looks neat, I can’t wait to see it all stretched out! I still would like to see the round one you made up close as well… I was busy over the past week, finishing up my shrug and I used some of my Cable 8 yarn which I’m sure will be left over (hee, hee) to crochet a little sunhat for a 1-year-old’s birthday. I adapted the pattern from the summer issue of Easy Knitting and added a cute little crocheted flower as well. I had to re-learn crochet for this, so it was good warm-up for seaming the Cable 8…

So cute! I can’t say I’ve ever used stitch markers in socks, but I’ve only ever knit a few pairs. I can see how they’d be great though — not so in the way.
