Remember Nate’s knitting project? He is now done with the front, back, and one sleeve of Veronica’s hoodie. Last night, he did some weaving and some seaming…
while I finished sewing up his second clog.
A true seaming party it was. Towards the beginning of this project, Nate asked me if it is better to join a new ball of yarn mid-row, or at the sides. I told him that I join mid row, but “the incredibly talented Becky” (this is how she is referenced in our house) always does it on the sides. He followed Becky’s method after a couple joins the other way, and while weaving and seaming last night, declared it was going to be his way as well. (I enjoy closing holes in a project and having them completely disapear. I also don’t like to add bulk to my edges).
Then, because I was done sewing up the clogs before he was done seaming the hoodie, I started swatching for the new hat I’ve been thinking about.
Finally, as promised, here is a shot of the nifty basket that is standing in for my regular one.
Neat, no? and for a cutie pie picture of Olivia and Veronica, click the link.

Yeah, it was wacky hair day at school, and Veronica wanted to match. The Leah buns were definitely an inspiration.

Oh, WOW. You just made my week!
I am utterly inspired by the photo of Nate weaving. That is SO COOL. My husband is the one who taught me how to cast on stitches and work a knit stitch, but that’s about all he knows. I wish he would learn more so we could have a seaming party where he does more than serve me a kir royal. Tee hee!
P.S. I always enjoy looking at photos of your adorable girls. Keep ’em coming!

I don’t think of a pair of girls could possibly look more like sisters than yours do. Adorable as always!

There are few men who can do an apron as well as Nate does…

Laura, you are amazing! Two days ago, you were in the hospital for your back and now you are back online at home with your precious family. Love the pictures of Nate and the girls! I can’t wait to see how the clogs felt. I felted a bag for my knitting – can’t wait to try clogs. I really like the swatch for the next hat but need to work on my Hayden hat first. Ta ta!
