An update to this morning

First of all, and sorry for forgetting this earlier, yes, it’s a kidney infection.

I’m back from the doctor, and apparently, I’m worse off than I thought. I’m not out of the woods for being hospitalized. She upped my prescription to the maximum amount and said if I’m not done with the fevers (apparently, I had a fever in the doctor’s office), chills, and abdominal pain in a day or two, they’re going to do a CT scan and possibly admit me.

Dangit.

This is seriously lame.

And I’m hungry.

Girly, you better get well quick ’cause I don’t think they’ll let you bring your wheel in to the hospital. They’ll probably let you knit though, but we’d all rather you get well without being admitted! My prayers are with you.

    Oh Laura,
I really hope you don’t need to go to a hospital. Yikes. .. such a yucky place to go. If you do have to go, here are Tom’s (my husband) top three favorite things about hospitals:
    1. The bar that is placed right in front of the toilet in the bathroom. It let’s you ease just right down to do your duty. Probably really helpful when you’re in pain.
    2. (I cringe at this one. . . ) The rolling toilet seat thing that they can put right next to your bed so you don’t even have to go all the way to the bathroom and use the aforementioned bar to ease yourself down.
    3. Warm blankets. They had blanket warmers on all floors of the hospital that Tom spent the summer in. You can ask them to put socks in there too. He asked if we could get a blanket warmer when we got home. My response: stick them in the dang dryer!

I’m hoping that by the time you read this, you’ll be feeling better and won’t be headed in for a stay.
Sending you my best healing thoughts.

oh, laura! i went through this exact thing in august and it was so no fun. i ended up in the emrgency room with a 104 fever, but they let me go home with a prescription for the antibiotic, 800 mg of ibuprofin in my system, and a lecture. on the third day the fever was down and i felt so much better. here’s hoping today is your magic day as well – three is a magic number!
