Or trying, at least. Yesterday, I spent all of my knitting (and after dinner kitchen cleaning) time trying to figure out how to get my blog more to my liking. It all started with the discovery that I am using an unnecessarily high amount of bandwidth, and I wanted to change a few things to fix it. One thing led to another, and almost nothing productive was accomplished on either the needles, or the blog. Sigh. A big thanks to the hubby for trying to help, though. I’m trying to change my comments window a bit, I want to learn how to create links to pop up windows in my content, and I really want to know how to do stuff in my sidebar.
I can still show you something pretty.
That is a portion of the garden window in my kitchen. I don’t know why, but african violets love my house. It must have good, african violet vibes or something because they divide, survive my crude and amateur surgical separation techniques, and continue to grow. That dark purple one in the center has been in constant, abundant bloom since mid February. I’ve started giving them away, because I was up to 20 plants! I started with around 8-10, I can’t remember. I don’t have room for them all. It is ridiculous.

oh my gosh those are so pretty… and I don’t even like violets!! ( Sorry.. my MIL who lives with us has so many and treats them like they are children… that kind of plant devotion makes me nervous 🙂

Our house is the same way! “They” (who ever “they” are) say that African Violets are supposed to be finicky, but Mom’s (and even the ones I have) flourish. Mom started with one, and now I think I can easily say we have between 15 and 20. We’re constantly giving them away. They really are beautiful though!

They are very happy looking plants, and very rewarding. Just a little bit of care and they bloom and grow like nuts. They bring a smile to my face.
