It’s luscious.
My Cable-Eight is coming along swimmingly. The fabric has a slight sheen to it, which is pretty, and it drapes very nice. I’m having some sort of mind block when it comes to counting rows, even with a clicker/counter, so I have to do it manually and often. But I don’t mind.
These cables are SO pretty. I thought they were great in the photo, which is why I wanted to knit it, but they’re even better in person. I love the depth, the curves, and the flow of this cable pattern.

Good morning! I’m still loving the fact that you decided to knit your Cable 8 in the round… Now I’m sort of looking forward to re-learning the crochet part, though I did consider frogging and redoing it that way. Yesterday, I decided to drop everything and knit a garter stitch shawl similar to the one on the Interweave website (I think it’s also pictured in the Cable 8 issue…) for my mum. Her birthday and Mother’s Day fall in the same week and I’ve bought her some kitchen things she wanted too. I’m using a variety of worsted and novelty yarns from my stash that I had originally set aside to make the pretty City Poncho hanging up at Columbine Yarns – but, alas, as the poncho thing seems to be withering off before I’ve even made a decent one I thought the shawl would be a good alternative pattern for using up a variety of yarns AND have a nice gift to give my wonderful mother.

It is so interesting that you are using Cotton Fleece. Diana and I used Cascade Seirra, both yarns are 20% wool and 80% cotton. I love it too, it is my favorite yarn.

Cable-Eight in the round. Ooh! Why didn’t I think of that??
Ah, but it’s okay because I think I might try to finagle the crochet bits on the side to give myself some more wiggle room on mine.
Yours is off to a beautiful start!

I think your photo shows the cable much more beautifully than the magazine.

Oh that’s really beautiful! I love th color you chose. What a gorgeous pattern. If only I didn’t have so many WIP, and soon to be WIP, I would knit a cable 8 for myself.

Love the color of your Cable Eight…I think it’s very summery, it reminds me of summer fruit.

How much yarn did you get for yours. I want to make my mom one and I don’t know how much yarn I will need. Seeing as I will probably have to order it online, I want to make sure I get enough. Thanks 🙂

So pretty! Actually, when I first looked at it, I thought it was a hat-in-progress (from the way it looks on the needles, with the scrunching at the top) and now I think a mini-version of that cable needs to be made into a hat!
