The Kathmandu shrug!
She’s pretty, and she’s fun to wear. I love the feel of Kathmandu.
Now, knit-along news… who’s got some? Any Haydens? Any Cable-Eights?
I linked Jena yesterday as she’s started her Cable-Eight. I haven’t started mine, but my yarn has been given the big, muddy welcome from Abner, who came straight inside from apparently chewing on a wet and dirty log, and carried a skein around in his mouth for awhile ’til we could catch him. Jerk. So I guess I’m committed now, since I can’t exactly return it.
Oh, and if you read me through Bloglines, you should now be able to get to my site by clicking the title. Thanks to Jody for bringing it to my attention.

Great job! I love it, love the color and love the sleeves. It looks so comfy. Hmmm maybe I need to make a shrug.

Beautiful!!! I can’t remember, did you make up the pattern or find it somewhere… I’d love to make one myself now. 😀

Well, the pattern is in the current issue of Easy Knititng, but I made mine significantly longer, and more narrow. Make sense? So the sleeves are longer and not as big around. Basically, it’s a rectangle with the ends sewn up to make sleeves.

Yeah!! I’ve been waiting to see your shrug!! It looks great on you!! BTW – I can’t remember if I thanked you properly for the Valentine stitch markers – I LOOOVE them! They are gracing my Clapotis as we speak. I also see this shrug in my future….thanks for the inspiration!

The shrug looks really comfy. And that is _so_ my colour. I’m jealous. 🙂

I just made a lace scarf from that kathmandu yarn, it is just yummy. I love that shrug! I have a shrug pattern from Interweave that I want to try….after I finish up a couple of more pressing projects.

Love the shrug! I was about to ask what the pattern was, and then found your answer – I bought that issue of Easy Knitting specifically for that shrug pattern!
I was thinking of doing one and adding some sort of lace or other edging to it…seems like the pattern would be pretty adaptable for that kind of thing…
Nice work! You’ve inspired me to do mine sooner rather than later.
March 4th, 2005 at 7:37 am
back again, having gotten the pattern…
can i ask what color you used? my lys had a couple greens, but none of them looked as dark as yours…
March 4th, 2005 at 8:22 am
I love that shrug too… I want one, I want one, I want one…. I didn’t start any more big projects this week because I want that to be next! Still not sure what I’m gonna make it with…

It’s GORGEOUS!!! And you are looking spectacular! How long did it take Nate to rip it off of you after he took your pictures? Not long I’d bet! It is fabulous! (Translation: That first shot of you is an especially great one!)
I’m jealous as mine is still over 20 inches to go and I want to be wearing it! I am so glad you inspired me to make one when you started yours!
Cheri – can I ask what IK and style of shrug it is that you mentioned in your comment above? I am thinking that having 2 shrugs might be a really great thing…

Beautiful shrug!!!!! That is a wonderful color on you!
Just got the stitch markers in the mail — thank you, thank you, thank you! They are gorgeous and will surely perk up my knitting! Thanks again!

I am so loving that shrug! Colour, sleeves, style – eveything about that shrug is good. Have you taken it off yet?
You look gorgeous in it.

Ooh love this! Fab sleeves and love the color too. Are those blossoms on the tree behind you? If so, *wow* I cannot wait for that part of spring to get to my part of the country! 🙂

It’s gorgeous! My 22 month old saw your picture and said, “Mommy. Pretty.” So you either look like me but prettier or she somehow knew you were a mommy too. I’ll be looking for the pattern while out today.

LOVE the shrug. it is now officially on my ‘to do’ list.
xo
