Health Group- week 34

Good morning! I did pretty good this week, although the scale doesn’t acknowledge it. I exercised Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Additionally, I did weights on Wednesday. It felt good. I ate pretty well this week, with the exception of Tuesday evening, when Nate came home with Thai food and eclairs. I have no regrets. It was glorious. Overall, I’m very happy with my week.

On Thursday and Friday, I made the conscious decision to spend my exercising time knitting, because I wanted to get the Kathmandu shrug done before today. Well, I didn’t get it finished. We’re just about to head into Seattle for our big date. I am hurriedly working the last inch of garter stitch on the edge in an effort to wear it anyway. Today, it’s going to be a smart looking stole, wrapped around my shoulders, secured with a pin. Tonight, the garter stitch edge will be frogged, and the shrug knitting will continue. I may have difficulty frogging, because it looks really darned cute as a stole.

How was your week?

    Hi Laura,

I don’t have much to report this week as my family took a lot of my time and attention – Daniel my son went on a 3 day school outing to the North of Portugal and my hsuband on a 3 day business trip. I maintained my weight and feel that I am loosing volume on my body (hopefully fat). This week I feel very sensitive as I am slowly weening of my antidepressants and antianxiety tablets which also gives me unpleasant phisical effects.

Next week I will have more news

    regards

    Barbara

    Hi!

I’m new. I’ve been stalking the archives and getting to know you, so I guess I should delurk and introduce myself. I’m a knitter and someone who never finds the time to go the gym.

I’m not trying to lose inches or pounds, I just want to get into better shape overall. I hope that’s not too vague. I guess my workout goal for the month is to go to the Hatha yoga program and cardio training each once a week.

Also, I’m a pretty horrid cook, so this month I want to learn a new dish.

There. I feel better having said all that. I’ll report back next Saturday with what I got. K?

I’m still working on the water and exercise goal. I’m not up to 48 oz yet, but I am doing better with the water than the exercise. Most exercise routines leave me cold. Walking is my exercise of choice, so I asked my husband to buy me a “Walk Away the Pounds” tape for Valentine’s Day. I really want a treadmill, but I broke our last one so I doubt the DH will put out money for another one.

I know I sound like an excuse machine, but I really am inching closer to doing what I know I need to do.

According to caloriesperhour.com I lose 85 calories an hour while knitting, so knitting is exercise!

Hi Laura! This week I’ve still had trouble with my asthma, but, I did get in two days of exercise on my treadmill, for 45 minutes each time. The scale may , or may not have, moved a pound or so. It’s hard to tell with such a small amount. I sure hope at some point it gets moving. I realized a few days ago that it has been seven months since my gyne Dr. made me feel bad about my weight, but I am still just about the same weight! I really want to have some progress before it’s time for another check-up, but, obviously, with a different Dr. I just got a European dance CD that I really like. It sure makes you want to get up and move, so maybe I’ll burn a few extra calories!

Well, I shouldn’t be bummed because it was bound to happen sometime – I GAINED a pound this week. I actually did very well during the week – exercised 3 times, stuck to the diet mostly, but then the weekend arrived. Yesterday, we went to my nephew’s first birthday and I ate a big hoagie sandwich that would have been rude not to eat since it was obvious my sister-in-law took awhile preparing the food. She also had made a cake of which I had a small piece. Then, my mum and sister got back from England last night and brought me….da, da, da, dah! CHOCOLATE. Penguin bars, Cadbury Twirls, Buttons… Mmmmmm, shame on them! Anyway, you can all stop hating me now – I am a real person, and I really, really, really, love to eat chocolate. It’s going to be hard not to eat it all at once – right now I’m trying hard to ignore it because I can hear it calling my name from the pantry. Maybe I should send it to work with my DH…. Um, well, not all of it anyway.

Have fun with the chocolate, dear.
