Time to look around the knit-along and see the Haydens!
Karen has finished one for her, and one for her daughter. You’ll need to scroll down to December 12th. Cute! And, drum roll please…. The one, the only, the charming and lovely Miss Hayden has completed her Hayden! (I really get a kick out of that). Ignore the fact that her picture is blurry. This is really cool.
Anyone else have anything to report?
So, I worked on my mohair flower at the birthday party yesterday. I finished all five petals. It’s cute.
Notice how the variegation in the petals nearly all match? That wasn’t remotely intentional. It kind of wigs me out, actually.
I now have ten ends to weave in. I need to connect the petals, create some sort of bobble thing for the center, and knit a leaf. I probably could have completed it, but I spent 5 hours baking gingerbread houses yesterday with my friend Jennifer. Yes, it was insane. We mixed 3 double batches of dough. We cut and baked 24 houses, and then some neighbor girls came over to assist, and I had them start on the miniature trees, reindeer, santas and sleighs, stars, snowflakes, etc. we use for landscape enhancement. I have no kitchen table right now. I have a mountain of gingerbread.
Mom just called as I was about to post this entry, and said that she loves her sweater! (Huge sigh of relief). I’m SO glad. She is going to have a picture taken so I can post it. I’m glad I made the smallest size. The width came up a little smaller than the pattern measurements, and she said it is still a tad roomy. (Must be nice). Some of you may recall, I was going back and forth as to which size to make. But enough of that.
WOO-HOO! The sweater fits!

hee, i love being wonderful. and isn’t the picture of bailey great? he was so irritated with me! I actually meant to post one of the hat itself, minus the “fuzziness”…maybe this weekend.
And what, what, what was all that gingerbread for? just to make houses?
Sorry I won’t be at Columbine tonight…i’m really not leaving my apartment until the DNA scarf is done. but i’ll be thinking fond/happy thoughts to both you and Gayle!!!
oh, i like your flower!

YAY!!! See, all that stress for nuthin’! Great job!!!
MMMM…..gingerbread!!! I remember those from last year! I remember mine was particularly a FIASCO! But very fun! Then…Art ATE it! But he did get some cute pictures of it first that actually just got developed.
I had a 2nd Hayden nearly done this morning ~ until I frogged it…hope to finish this evening.
You’re flower is quite pretty; it looks soft and delicate.
Hayden – it is mandatory that we humiliate our dogs with silly headwear during the holidays. Most of us just use Santa hats and the like, not Haydens, but in your case, it is fitting.

I KNEW your mom’s sweater would be just fine!A very nice star for your cap!
Your flower looks lovely so far….nice and delicate. There’s that ‘rainbow ‘again , giving you the matched varigation on the petals!! Soooo, what is the plan for all the gingerbread houses?? I used to always make ‘graham cracker’ gingerbread houses with my four kids, and whoever else joined in. I did the ‘real ‘gingerbread once, and that was enough for me!! We would assemble them on individual trays, and place them around a toy train layout for a village. You sound like you got a real metropolitan center there! Let’s see a photo of Mt. Gingerbread, haha! Oh yeah! My youngest son just had his l-o-n-g blonde ponytail cut off last night. I didn’t want him to! Now he has two inch short dark roots left, and he reminds me of Harry Potter!! I remember your girls looked older after getting their hair cut, but my son looks younger now!

Yes, well, we’ll see about the houses. 20 of them have already been dispersed. If I actually get mine decorated, I’ll post it.

Love the flower and your Mom’s sweater. Twenty Four Gingerbread Houses? Wow!
Thanks for telling readers to scroll down to my December 12th entry. My blog is homecoded and I don’t do permalinks. Evelyn and I are getting a ton of compliments on the matching Hayden Hats.
