Olivia’s knitting again

We went out last night and picked up some soft, pink yarn so that Olivia could knit this cute bunny for the birthday party on Saturday.

While we were out, we also bought a mini puzzle and some candy, to complete the package. Olivia loves how soft the yarn is, although she has discovered that it isn’t the easiest to knit with. I’m mildly concerned about the resulting rabbit for a couple of reasons. First of all, she’s knitting in garter stitch as opposed to stockinette. Secondly, this is hardly the “slightly fuzzy, smoothly twisted yarn” that the pattern calls for. Homespun is a very soft, BUMPY yarn. That combined with the garter stitch is going to make for one bumpy bunny. We’ll see what happens.

I’m with Olivia, why purl? 😉 Temper this with the fact that I used different yarn, but I made a bunny in garter stitch and thought it turned out just as cute. You can be the judge…

Looks like you might have a bunny with a natural perm.

Name it Curly! Go with the yarn flow! Whatever gets her to knit happily…

You will need something that doesn’t fuzz out to much to stuff this with. Perhaps roving? Or even some of the leftover yarn wound into balls?

How do you catch a unique rabbit? You ‘neak up on it! How do you catch a TAME unique rabbit? Tame way, you ‘neak up on it!

Bunnies are SUPPOSED to be fuzzy and furry and fun! No ears about it, I think O’s bunny will be absolutely the bunny hop of the party!

I will say it is great to see she is doing something so challenging! A Kindergartner, making a bunny! I was impressed with a scarf! Wow!

    Hoppy knitting!

it’s gonna be cute and fluffy no matter how it turns out, purl or knit. And the recipient will love it.
