That’s right, it’s BIRTHDAY PARTY time! Olivia has an invitation for Saturday. This girl’s name is Mary Sunshine. Isn’t that the cutest? Here’s how I spent a portion of yesterday…
I really don’t want to dedicate an entire week to this, so I decided to try the “dressed doll” option of the pattern. Until now, I had been highly opposed to it, but so far, I think it is going to be incredibly cute! I know my girls like it. Abigail spent the day trying to gift her doll to Olivia or Veronica (who STILL don’t have their own), thinking that I would then make her one with a pretty pink dress like this one. There were no takers. They’re all smitten with the dress. All three of them want one.
I am fussy about variegated yarns. I really like how they look in the skein, but when they’re knit up, I find I have issues. I have to say though that I really like this dress so far. It’s very cute. I’ve had an incredibly difficult time amassing other colors around it that work, like skin and hair color, but I think I’ve finally got it. I also think I nailed it!
I’m not going to tell.
You just have to wait.
Hehe.

Oh boy! NOW I may have to try one of those!! I hadn’t planned on making one of those either, but it sure looks cute! I spent time at the stores this week, with coupons in my hot little hand, looking for skeins of yarn that I thought I’d like for the bodies, and clothes and hair! I feel guilty, cause I have other chores to do, like hemming my dad’s pants, but I want to do dolls, and want to see if the yarn ideas I have for doll hair will work out. My cousin just flew out to Las Vegas for a two week trip, and she packed her suitcase with all kinds of yarn to make dolls the whole time she is there visiting!!
Doll Mania! Please Tell Abigail that we loved all the cute views of her and the backpack yesterday. I didn’t mean to leave her out of the comments! I think I was already thinking ahead to “what is Olivia going to knit next?”

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on winning in the bucket hat contest! For the record Art’s vote was for picture #2 of Veronica wearing the hat (she’s too adorable) and I’m not allowed to say what his comment was about today’s “doll dress” or what he asked if it was before I told him it was a doll dress. (he threatened to “BOP” me. It is a cute dress and I can think of a zillion things to go with it. Then again, I like weird things. Have a lovely day!

Was that dress pattern in the magazine or did you just wing it? I don’t remember seeing it, and I really want to make it!

The doll looks cute! And I am sure the dress will spice her up.
Where’s the pattern for the doll located?
Thanks

I like the dressed doll option. Haven’t tried it, but I want to! Can’t wait to see this one finished. I agree, *way* cute dress!
