The preview for Fall IK is up, and there’s a sweater I’m pretty excited about.
Interweave Knits frequently has beautiful, heavily cabled sweaters in their magazine, but they’re usually drop shoulder, which will never look good on me. I always mean to alter and knit them. I never do. I love the neck on this, and the fact that it’s raglan. There is one thing I don’t like about it though, and that’s how the cables unravel and spread out over the bottom in the back.
It looks extremely unflattering, but that’s easy enough to fix by either shortening the whole sweater, which I’d probably do, or adding a cable repeat.
The Daisy Scarf turned out much better than I expected. I might actually wear it. It stretched out to be as wide as the Sea Silk Stole, and about half the length. When laceweight merino is blocked and stretched out, it’s so breezy and light, such fun to touch.
Clark is still lethargic. He’s laying at my feet.

Wow!! I love that sweater, too! In fact, I think it looks like the best pattern in the issue.

I love the look of the tangled yoke cardigan as well. I haven’t ever knit a sweater for myself though…they look amazing on the models but I’m always scared about how they would look on big ol’ plump me. That’s kinda what Ravelry is nice for I guess…I’ve seen sweaters that I would definitely knit now that I’ve seen them on “real” people. I love this cabled one as well. So pretty! I agree though…those ribs at the bottom have got to go.
Poor Clark. Did you get any sleep last night? Riley let me sleep until 5am. Wow….I felt so lucky! LOL!!!

That is a beautiful sweater. A couple of weeks ago I sat down and taught myself how to cable, so I’m very excited to see this project! And yes, I agree about the ‘backside’ cables…I definitely do *not* want to emphasize what I already have!

beautiful sweater, and I agree about the cables across the beam, and I’d like to go on record against flesh colored, skin tight pants…..

That sweater is lovely — I am going to get that copy whenever it arrives Singapore 🙂
