I’ve started the “S”!
See it? The very bottom of the “S”? Hmm, the outside of the shield doesn’t look that choppy in person.
The blanket is going very well. I was a little concerned how cotton would do with the intarsia twists, but it is laying nice and smooth, and will probably improve somewhat after blocking. I’m very happy with the process so far.
Yesterday, Veronica and I tagged along with Nate on his errand running for work, and we stopped at Kasala’s furniture outlet in Seattle. They had some great stuff, so aside from knitting, I’m also spending a lot of time sketching out possible furniture layouts for the new living room. As of right now, we have no living room furniture to take to the new place. Our current living room couch and chair are going in the basement “family room” of the new house to replace the gray couch we pitched in the dumpster a few weeks ago. We’re keeping the coffee table, bookshelf, and tv cabinet from the current family room and moving that to the basement.
The living room coffee table is going away, and the bookshelves (despite Nate’s state of denial) don’t match the new house at all. So I don’t know what we’re going to do with them. The piano is going to one of my sisters-in-law. The fish from the living room fish tank may end up in the pond. And that’s about it. There’s nothing left.
So we need new stuff. Preferably leather.
