More sleeve

That’s all. Just sleeve knitting. While it is faster than the body, it is still slow going. Plus, I’ve decided that I hate sleeve increases. I don’t know exactly why. There is no logical reason, but I hate them. I never space them right. And in ribbing, it’s harder to see where I increased last, so as to know where the next increase row should be. I know, I’m whining. It’s just that as I was knitting today, I remembered how much I hated the sleeve increases on Nate’s Manly Sweater, which is the only other sleeved sweater I have knit, and I realized that it must be the process, not just this sweater.

Wanna see what I want to knit now? I realize that I do this. I show a picture of a lovely, stating I want to knit it, and then you never see nor hear of it again. Well, Savannahchick was blogging about one of my favorite drooling books recently, and I had to go to my bookshelf and look at it once again. From this book, I have knit this….. (except mine has the optional eyelet panels).

I even wear it. It is beautiful. Mine is a fabulous cranberry red, and I have yet to figure out how to adequately photograph it which is why you’re getting the book shot. What I want to knit now is this….

LOVE it! It would take FOREVER! And there’s still the Lily of the Valley shawl that I’ve swatched for, but need to buy the remaining yarn to knit. Lace is tremendously enjoyable to knit, and a heck of a lot more difficult that sleeve increases. Don’t ask me what my problem is.

Knitting and chocolate, what could be better?

image

I didn’t knit all day yesterday, as I had hoped, but I’ve got a good start on mom’s sleeve. My knitting sister-in-law is coming over this morning, so I expect to make more progress.

Last night, Nate and I took the girls to the mall. I have well behaved children, but for some reason, they were wild monkeys last night. Nate was beside himself. I bought some clothes. Nate hit the Godiva booth. Mmmm.

Also, I keep forgetting….. Olivia’s friend, Brooke, didn’t get a handmade gift for her birthday. The scary scarf has been pulled from the needles and will be frogged. I was in the grocery store on Friday afternoon, and happened past a little hanger thing in front of the crackers displaying pink Disney Princess jump ropes, with pink and purple rubber beads on the rope. It was $3.99. I thought to myself, “Is not having to knit something I don’t even want to be working on in the next 20 hours worth $3.99?” It was. I didn’t look back.
