One done

I’ve managed to finish one clog in the last week.

image

I haven’t been busier than usual, I just haven’t felt very conversational which is why you haven’t heard from me. I’ve been tired. I’m battling a recurrence of my sore throat. I’m trying to get some areas of the house organized from the move that was, yes, a year ago now.

Right now, we have a table full of high school seniors over for breakfast. They’re all talking about what they’re doing after graduation, and as I watch them, I see Abigail and Olivia in 9 years. It’s creeping me out.

Health Group- Year 3, week 38

I did my physical therapy every day this week except for Tuesday, when I was really too tired to function, carryover from being sick I think.

I’m eating too much at night. My days are good, nights, bad. I don’t get it, either. I don’t feel deprived during the day. I think I’m eating enough, but night comes, I make dinner, it’s good, and I eat a lot of it. Then I get frustrated with myself.

How are you doing?

Noro clogs

I got most of the clogs done yesterday.

image

They’re Noro Kureyon and an assortment of Lamb’s Pride. I have to finish the cuff on one, and knit the outer soles for both. Then we’ll felt these babies and see what happens. The colors are kind of neat.

I’m feeling a little better. My tailbone is still sore, but not bad. I have no energy at all, and everything I do is a huge physical effort. I just want to sleep, and Clark was up twice last night. Nate helped out and took him at 4 this morning. He (Clark) is really grumpy. I don’t know if he’s still feeling a bit sick or what.

Done with the monkeys

Fun pattern, Monkey Socks from Knitty. Koigu. Size 2, knitpicks circular needles.

I’m doing laundry today and knitting some clogs. When they’re done, I’m going to wind my first ever skein of Socks that Rock into a ball and cast on for the Uptown Boot Socks from the Winter 2003 issue of IK. At least, that’s the plan.

And to my friend that has just discovered Koigu and sock knitting at my hand, and has acquired more Koigu than me in the last week, I’m very, very sorry for that link. Rather, I’m sorry for Tim. :-).

Continuing search for clogs

My pink clogs are, as I’ve mentioned before, so dead. I keep changing my mind as to what I want to make their replacements with. So I went to the stash to see if I could scrounge up something from my odds and ends of Lamb’s Pride and this is what I came up with.

I have a skein of Noro + a little from my Shoalwater Shawl (see sidebar) that I was thinking of using as one of the strands in the top, and pairing a light and a dark blue together on the soles and trim. Or, if I run out of the blue before I get to the trim, I’ll use a couple of greens. I think they could look good. Have any of you done or seen a pair of felted clogs with Noro?

I’m feeling a little better this morning. Clark seems to be a little better, and his fever is either much lessened or gone. I’m still VERY tired, though, so I have to force myself to do anything productive.

Health Group- Year 3, week 37

Well, despite being sick all week, I did manage to eat well and do physical therapy Monday through Thursday. I didn’t think to do it yesterday until I was in bed and not about to get up again. And then yesterday, I ate a bunch of donut holes right before dinner.

I weighed in this morning at 225.4, or .6, I don’t remember. And I’ve been trying really hard to stay hydrated, so hopefully it’s legit.

I’m very tired of being sick. And now, little Clark finally has a fever. I don’t know why everyone in the house had to get sick One. At. A. Time. We’re approaching week 4 of a sick household. Without a break if I’m not mistaken. And I’m not even better yet.

How was your week?

Through a corner

I’ve edged around a corner on the scarf.

It’s coming along quickly and I like it so much, I’m thinking of making a similar shawl. I thought that if I spread out the daisies and added a traveling, connecting vine or something, that could be cool. What do you think?

Daisy knitting

I picked up the Daisy-Swatch-Turned-Scarf (see sidebar) this week at the encouragement of a persuasive group of knitters. I finished off the main body pattern, bound off, and swatched edgings.

Knitting on an edging is turning out to be more fun than I thought it would be. That’s not hard, since I expected it to be laborious, tedious, and miserable.

In truth, it’s a pleasant way to fill the unhappy hours of sick, which I still am.

I’m so cold

I thought this cold/flu/whatever it is would be short lived. I was wrong. I’ve been mildly battling it for days and it finally came in for the kill. I’m miserable. Freezing, my skin hurts, my neck hurts, my head hurts, I have a sinus infection. My ears are threatening mutiny. My hands are shaking too much to knit (oh, the suffering).

I can’t lay in bed under my down comforter and electric blanket (I know, I’ll put it away when the weather warms up) because I need to watch Clark. So I’m wearing microwaved herbal packs around my neck and drinking chamomile tea. It would be pleasant under more favorable circumstances.

And I really am too sick to be taking pictures of teacups, but being unable to knit and unable to lay down, I have nothing else to do. Naptime, at the earliest, is in an hour. Hopefully, I can last that long.
