Health Group- Year 2, week 44

Every time I sat down to do Health Group yesterday, Clark decided he needed to eat immediately. So the post is late.

I weigh about 219 right now. And I can cross my legs relatively comfortably! So I guess I lost some weight during the months I couldn’t eat. This surprises me somewhat, since what I did eat when I could eat was junk, but it looks like I lost some weight just the same.

I still think it’s mostly muscle.

But, to help take advantage of the situation, I went grocery shopping and bought some food to make healthy meals. Like fantastic salads for lunches. I had one today. Mmmmmm. And some good crockpot meals, since my energy is ok during the day, but fades real quick as the sun starts to go down.

It’s SO nice to be able to eat again!

How’s it going for you?

Health Group- Year 2, week 43

Good morning. No March baby for me I guess. We’re both still here.

Shopping was fabulous yesterday, and I’m still feeling more or less patient. Olivia isn’t, however. The first thing she did this morning was come into my room and complain that the baby wasn’t born yet.

We’re all waiting.

I am having some pain this morning. It’s focused on the sides of my abdomen, and across the top of my low back, and it comes in waves. I haven’t been timing it. If it progresses, I might pay more attention, but for now, I’m ignoring it. It’s happened a few times in the last few days.

Health Group-

what’s going on out there? Anything? I’ve only gained about 10-14 pounds, depending on the day. I figure that when the baby comes and I lose all the extra fluids, I’ll weigh less than I did before the pregnancy. I’ll enjoy seeing the scale, but I’m sure I’ve only lost muscle mass, and probably increased in flab.

That’s not going to be pretty.

Health Group- Year 2, week 41

Good morning.

We are busy over here. I’m packing the remainder of the kitchen. It is now at the point where I’ll pack half a box, then I have to sit for a few minutes, then I pack the rest of the box, and sit…. It’s tedious.

I reserved our U-Haul truck two weeks ago, and last night, they left a message on my cell phone saying the truck wasn’t available. We’re still waiting to hear whether or not they’re going to be able to do anything for us. That is SO lame. Particularly because if I’d called and cancelled last night, I still would have been charged something. So reservations only work in THEIR favor, I guess.

Last night, I went to the mall and bought some new jammies and undies for the hospital. Because I wanted to. Then I went to the Body Shop and picked up a full compliment of their extremely yummy Vitamin E skin care line, and their Warming Mineral Face Mask. Say it with me, “Mmmmmmmmmmm”. I really like the stuff, and have been out of it for several months.

Also, I stopped by the Motherhood Maternity store, which had just closed, so I was talking to them through their gate. At the shower yesterday, one of my friends had the most fantastic diaper bag, and she said she got it at Motherhood. So I asked them to show me the green one. It’s quite ugly in that photo, but it’s really, really pretty in person. I want one.

I have to be getting exercise today because I’m breathing very heavy with the smallest exertion.

That’s my lead-in to Health Group. How’s it going out there?

Fantastic, U-Haul just called. We can’t get a truck today. I hate them.

I really, really hate them.

Health Group- Year 2, week 40

Good morning. Thank you all for the support yesterday and this morning. I wasn’t too hurt by the malicious comment, mainly because they so obviously had no clue what they were talking about, but it’s always nice to hear that others understand.

Nate was furious.

I’ve been sick with this cold/infection all week, but I think I’m getting better. My energy is returning slowly. I’m still absorbed with the move and all that it entails. We load the truck next Saturday, we’ll live in a vacant house for two days, then we move into the new house.

So let’s hear some Health Group news. How’s it going? Anyone doing anything great?

Health Group- Year 2, week 39

Hi all. I have a sinus infection today. Last night and today have been rough. I feel awful.

Nate did some packing today. And he cut the grass, hopefully for the last time :-).

That was a happy thought. Our yard takes at least 2 hours to mow, and it isn’t a fun mow. Very uneven, with spontaneous holes and dips everywhere. Only some of which are due to the dog’s “puppy” years.

So we got a bit done today. The weather was gorgeous. I made really big lists. I think I’m finally coming to grips with the fact that I’m going to have a baby. I took the car seat off the wall in the garage and removed the cover for washing. I’ve started looking at those “what to take to the hospital” lists online, and have begun making my own.

I think I’m ready to go shopping for diapers, wipes, ointment, onesies, etc.

And I’ve started to feel a little more pressure down south. Accompanied by crippling shots of pain in the far right side of my butt. So maybe he’s thinking about preparing to come out, too?

I’ve been reading about belly mapping and such on this website that Jen from the comments linked awhile ago. (Thank you, it’s fascinating). And I’ve started doing 40 pelvic tilts on my hands and knees twice a day to help “position” junior. It may be a bit premature, as he’s not engaged in my pelvis yet, but I figure, what the heck? He does feel less sideways to me now. And I’m feeling more of a uniformity in the center of my abdomen, that I would guess is his back.

I’m going to start looking at/for jogging strollers for when I’m recovered enough to walk the new neighborhood. Any suggestions? My trouble with strollers has always been that they seem to be made exclusively for short people. I always have to slouch in an uncomfortable way to push them. It sucks.

I’ve never had a jogging stroller before.

So that’s it for me. How are you?

Stupid sinus infection.

Health Group- Year 2, week 38

Good morning. I’m just opening the floor for you all today. I’m not doing anything spectacular in the healthy department. I’m just trying to survive the remainder of the move and the pregnancy. But, the pregnancy will be over in 4-6 weeks, so we’re approaching the end. Hard to believe.

I’m looking forward to doing my wheatgrass juice again. I’m looking forward to juicing again. I’m also looking forward to walking for exercise again. The neighborhood we’re moving to is extremely hilly. While it will be difficult to walk through, after I build up some stamina, I’d imagine it will be REALLY good for my heart and metabolism.

And I’m anxious to get back to my weights. I love the way muscles feel.

That was a whole lot of “I” sentences. Sorry. How are things for you?

Health Group- Year 2, week 36

It’s been a completely busy day. We got a ton accomplished, with much help from our friends. Thanks to all who came! (Hayden).

I’m hanging in there. Not exercising, but doing a lot to get ready to move. How are you?

Health Group- Year 2, week 35

Good morning.

I’m not feeling well. I’ve been fighting a cold all week, and today, I’m extremely tired. We’re having a wind storm today, and the power is going on and off. It isn’t as bad in our little cul-de-sac as I’m sure it is elsewhere. Right now, we sit at the base of a big hill, which shelters us I’m sure. The new house is on TOP of a big hill, so I have no doubt we’ll get hit harder by windstorms in the future. But our chances of flooding will be dramatically reduced!

However, remember that we had roofing supplies delivered and stacked on top of our roof yesterday, so I’ve spent the morning picking up plastic vents that are blowing off, and I’ve noticed that one of the packages of shingles has opened and is starting to blow around.

Lovely.

All my energy is being spent packing and arranging to move. It’s getting harder as I’m getting further along in the pregnancy.

Today, Nate is doing “handyman” things around the house like replacing the garbage disposal, faucets, maybe sinks and dimmer switches. Handyman does not come remotely natural to the poor guy, so he’s having a rough time of it. Being born male doesn’t automatically mean you know how to do all of those things.

I’ve kind of given up on healthy eating for right now. Every time I try, my stomach hurts. Right now, dairy, sugar, and simple carbs are the only things I can stomach, and dairy is the only thing that soothes. It’s so weird. We had gone completely to soymilk before the pregnancy, but I’ve been drinking a ton of cow milk.

Last night for dinner, I had manicotti, and my stomach didn’t hurt! I’m tired of fighting it. So I’m not going to.

Health Group- Year 2, week 34

Good afternoon. My tummy is bothering me today, and I don’t know why. But it sucks.

I’ve been very active this week, packing and moving things around. I’ve been working on drinking more fluids, and I’m trying to eat relatively well.

This doesn’t mean I haven’t succumbed to stress-induced ice cream fests, with all the house buying stuff going on, but on the whole, I’m pretty happy with how it’s going.

I didn’t weight myself this morning, so I don’t have an update there, but it isn’t critical right now either. I can tell the baby is growing, so I’m sure I’ll be putting on some pounds at some point.

Sleeping sucks. I’m not getting a lot.

How are you?
